Bloggers Fest 2011 at Thunderbird Resort, Rizal

Yesterday, April 16, 2011, the Filipino Blogger’s Community held Bloggers Fest 2011 at the Thunderbird Resort in Binangonan, Rizal. We were transported to the venue by a bus stationed in Makati City. About 200 bloggers were part of the event.

We left Makati at around 9:45 am and reached Thunderbird Resort at past 11:00 am. Upon arrival, we were given loot bags that contain a Php 100 Fiesta Casino voucher, notepads, pen and flyers. There is also a photo booth at the entrance.

Thunderbird Resort Event Center is a well-lit and sophisticatedly-designed hall that can accommodate up to 600 pax (theater setup) or 300 pax (classroom setup). The tables and chairs setup are nice and elegant.

Here’s the buffet station. Can’t wait to see what’s for lunch!

Our lunch is composed of a salad bar, a soup which I guessed is a pumpkin soup, fish fillet in oyster sauce, rosemary herbed chicken, and sautéed vegetables. Dessert Pinoy’s version of crème brulee – leche flan and some fresh fruits.

There were also short discussion on Blogging 101, Personal Blogging, Photo Blogging, SEO, DNS and Domains, Overcoming Writer’s Block and Blog Security.

We also went around the resort during the workshop and networking hour. First stop is at the Fiesta Casino where I played the slot machine for the first time. Yes, it is my very first casino experience, and it was fun. The Fiesta Casino is open 24-hours for round the clock gaming experience.

Second stop is at the pool area. The swimming pool is just an average-sized pool with a Jacuzzi and a poolside bar. The best thing about the pool area is the view, overlooking greeneries and the Laguna de Bay, which for me is very relaxing.

They also have a Presidential Room, 12 Deluxe Rooms and 28 Superior Rooms.  Packages start at Php 4,888 (weekday) and Php 5,088 (weekends). This already includes breakfast for two, unlimited wireless internet access, 60 minute massage and a Php 300 play coupon. There are also free shuttle services to and from the resort.

There is also a Spa near the pool area.

There is also a generous raffle of Zest Air tickets, Thunderbird Resort gift certificates, North Face items, web hosting from Solidhostings.com and a lot more.

Needless to say, the Bloggers Fest 2011 is a blast! ‘Til next time Pinoy Bloggers!

  5. ive been to this place last may 2011, and almost everything was okay except from the no swimsuit policy, i really find it weird as i always hit philippines during summer, been to bora, koron and mindoro as well as thailand, indonesia and dubai but this is the first time ive heard such policy without further reason behind it, i felt pity with with the woman who wants to join her relatives on the pool but was halted by the staff because shes wearing short and plain white shirt, it should be swimsuit instead... and its really weird, come on, as long as you dont have some metals on your clothes then you shouldnt be halted, i dont know, for me its just some kinda weird policy... thats booo for me, for a country who is claiming as conservative and you will find such blah blah stuff on a resort...
